Timer presets: start, add, and subtract time

Remote Timers is built around presets: one-click buttons you define once and press all day. There are three kinds — start presets that begin a countdown (30M, 1H), adjustment presets that add or subtract time (+10M, -2M), and reset. Staff never type durations during a rush, and every action reaches the displays instantly.

  1. Create presets that match your menu

Under your timer options, define the buttons you need: a '30-Minute Walk-in' start, a '60-Minute Group' start, a '+15M' extension for upsells, a '-2M' penalty for escape-room hints, and a reset.

  2. Run sessions with one click

From the hub, press the preset on the right lane's row. The countdown starts (or adjusts) immediately on every display showing that timer.

  3. Swap and reorder

The swap action exchanges two timers' remaining time — handy when groups switch lanes. Drag rows to reorder the hub to match your floor layout.

Why there's no pause button

Remote Timers models a session as an end time, which is what keeps every display in perfect agreement. Instead of pausing, add the time back: if you'd pause for 5 minutes, press +5M. It's one click and the displays never disagree about what the clock says.

Common questions

Can I subtract time as well as add it?

Yes — adjustment presets go both directions: +10M, -30S, whatever your operation needs.

What happens when a countdown reaches zero?

The display shows an expired state and your hub raises an alert (with optional sound at the hub). You can enable auto-reset to clear the alert automatically after a delay you choose.

Can staff run timers from a phone?

Yes. The dashboard works in any modern browser, so a phone or tablet at the counter is a full control station.
