Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any special hardware to run Remote Timers?
No specialized hardware is required. Remote Timers runs entirely in the cloud. All you need is a smart TV, a tablet, or a computer connected to the internet. We officially support modern browsers like Chrome, Safari, and Edge.
How do I cast a timer to my smart TV?
It's incredibly simple! 1. Open the web browser on your smart TV — or on any device with web browsing connected to your screen. 2. Navigate to your specific timer URL (e.g., remotetimers.com/timer/abc-123). 3. Use your dashboard to control it remotely.

Can I manage multiple lanes or bays at the same time?
Yes. Your hub dashboard shows every lane or bay side by side with live countdowns, all controlled from a single tablet or computer at your reception desk. The base plan includes 5 timers, and you can add more anytime — scaling up to 50 timers for the largest venues.
What happens if my internet connection drops?
If your device temporarily loses connection to the internet, your timer will continue counting down locally using internal clocks. It will automatically re-sync with the server exact state the moment your connection restores.
How accurate is the real-time sync?
Our system uses real-time WebSocket technology with server clock synchronization and drift correction, so every display shows the same countdown. Screens that briefly lose connection keep counting locally and re-sync automatically — reliable enough for competitive axe throwing tournaments and timed escape room events.
Can I create preset game modes or custom durations?
Absolutely. Rather than manually typing in times, you can build Presets under the 'Timers' tab. Setting up a '30-Minute Walk-in' or '90-Minute Premium Session' takes just one click.
Is there a limit to how many TVs I can connect?
Your plan sets the limit. The base plan includes 10 concurrent display connections, every extra timer you add includes 2 more, and standalone connection add-ons let you scale up to 200 concurrent displays across a massive entertainment complex.
How does the 30-day free trial work?
You get full, unrestricted access to the complete platform for 30 days. You will need to enter a credit card to prevent spam accounts, but you will not be charged a penny until day 31. You can cancel with one click in the billing portal anytime before then.
How do I upgrade from my Free Trial to a Paid Subscription?
You don't need to do anything! If you haven't canceled your trial by the 30th day, your account will smoothly transition to the monthly billing cycle using the card on file.
